Church Administrator

 

POSITION TITLE 
Church Administrator
Reports to: Executive Leadership 


JOB SUMMARY 

Seeking a responsible, proactive church administrator to be responsible for managing the daily operations of the church, through supervising staff and volunteers, managing the church's schedule of events, ensuring the effective use of church income, and keeping accurate records. The Church Administrator manages staff and volunteers, works with the community and supports the pastor and other church staff members.

 

Must be able to handle multiple tasks to ensure the church is well-run, maintained, and staffed. You should be generous, efficient, detail-oriented, and professional.

 

EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS

  • Part-time (24hrs - 30hrs/weekly) position with the plan to become full-time (40hrs/weekly)

  • Flexible schedule / 90 Probationary Period / 2 Weeks Paid Vacation & More.

  • Hybrid (Work from home 2-3 days weekly and 1-2 days in office)

  • Salary Range: $15 - $20 per hour (based upon experience)


ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Managing daily operations and maintaining office supplies and records.

  • Coordinating, planning, and executing church events.

  • Assisting to create budgets, pay bills, oversee payrolls, and track and record church income from donations and sales.

  • Handling church communications and publications, creating and distributing bulletins and newsletters.

  • Overseeing church facility maintenance and security operations.

  • Assisting with scheduling meetings, renting church equipment and facilities, and enforcing church policies for facility use.

  • Building and maintaining relationships with the congregation and community.


REQUIRED SKILLS 

  • An associate's degree or proven office management experience of at least 3 years, or in a related field.

  • 2 years' office or administrative experience.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong computer skills (proficient in Mac Computers) and ability to operate office equipment.

  • Ability to handle stress and problem solve.

  • Ability to keep confidential and sensitive information.

  • A commitment to standing as a moral and upstanding representative of the church community.

  • Technical competence with internet & social media navigation, database applications, and software programs (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite) 

  • Exceptional communication skills (verbal and written) with demonstrated ability to speak, read, and write English.

  • Proficient interpersonal skills and professionalism 

  • Strong organizational and multi-tasking capabilities 

  • Superior attention to detail.

  • Able to perform basic administrative and clerical functions such as typing, filing, data entry, organizing materials, copying, scanning, etc. 

  • Work effectively in both independent and collaborative settings.

  • Protect confidentiality when handling sensitive information.

  • Maintain familiarity with The City Of Restoration’s priorities, policies, procedures, programs, and personnel.

  • Learn and efficiently apply new ideas, processes, policies, and functions.

  • Solve problems independently and effectively.

  • Adapt to shifting priorities, demands, changes, and workloads.

  • Function under pressure in an ever-changing environment.

  • Manage time wisely and meet fast-approaching deadlines.

  • Follow through on assigned projects, providing timely updates as needed.

  • Coordinate calendars and revise schedules frequently.

  • Render guidance and direction in development of support staff and volunteers.

 

GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS 

  • At minimum, an associate’s degree and 2 years of experience in administration or a related field, with experience in a non-profit environment strongly preferred.

  • A vibrant and growing personal relationship with God, with commitment to Christian principles and teachings.


SALARY / WAGES 
Compensation, which is negotiable and salary-based, will be determined with respect to a candidate’s qualifications and experience.
